Benjamin Thornton

Co-founder, Ditchplugins

Benjamin is one of the two people behind Ditchplugins. The company started with his own site: an agency-built WordPress install on Elementor, stuffed with plugins, that took more debugging than editing — and Core Web Vitals that never stayed green for long.

After a $2,000 quote to fix them one more time, he and Artem moved the whole thing to Astro in under ten days instead. It got faster, the vitals held, and updating it stopped requiring a developer. He writes here about what that migration actually cost, what it broke, and what it did not.
